"A Day At The Beach" Wood Inlay Jewelry Box
Don C wanted me to create a jewelry box that he could give to his wife Kathy for her birthday. His requirements were that the lid should have a marquetry inlay that had a VW bus, a wave, and some palm trees.
The jewelry box that I call "Day at the Beach" was the result.
This box measures approximately 9 X 12 X 3 inches and is composed of the exotic hardwood cocobolo. The inlay was made from a variety of woods including: sweet gum, maple, koa, black palm, African mahogany, walnut, and holly. To personalize the box, "Kathy" was inlaid in the inside of the lid.
A project like this takes approximately 2 weeks to complete and ship.
