A Kitchen In Red Birch

This kitchen is made more dramatic by the selection of wood. Red Birch is a lively wood, with vivid and varying grain. I select the face frames, door frames, panels and drawer faces according the their grain and color to produce the most pleasing result. The reward for this effort is demonstrated by the look of this beautiful kitchen. The vanity is made from bamboo plywood.

White and Bright Kitchen

The kitchen is intentionally white and bright because it is an interior space. Yet, the theme of “earth and water” brings a warm and elegant feel to the kitchen. Sheldon’s task was to bring my vision of this space into the look and feel of the custom cabinetry. In particular, the curve of the island and the intersection of the painted wood, granite, stainless steel and birds eye maple surfaces presented a clear challenge. I am thrilled with the look and feel of the completed kitchen. I continue to be amazed by the beauty of the center island. There is a mystery to the way that Sheldon conjoined all the pieces. In addition, the cabinetry is beautifully executed in a soft painted finish. And the lighted display boxes, in their simplicity, perfectly showcase my colorful glass pieces.
