This gorgeous brooch features a 1.25ct 8x8mm trillion cut African Amethyst natural gemstone. The organic style of the pin was created by using a broom casting/pine needle technique. I first melt the sterling silver and then pour it into the top of bundled pine needles or broom straw. The cascading liquid takes on the structure of the organic matter and you end up with a beautiful textured piece of silver. I then fabricated a setting for the stone, and a pin back on the back of the pin.
