My 8 yr old client is an American Girl Doll collector. She envisioned a large 3 story doll house with front panels swinging open and an elevating roof panel as home for her dolls. During our 3 design meetings, we worked through number of rooms, size & placement of windows, room colors, wall paper … selection, flooring selection, front door design, and dampening roof supports. My customer (mother) only requested storage for small items; hence there are 7 drawers. And both wanted a door bell! Five rooms are wired with overhead lighting & miniature wall switch. Doll house is built using birch plywood. Poplar used to make custom clapboard siding. Miniature split cedar shingle attach to roof panels. Overall dimensions: 58"h x 50"w x 32"d.
