Arable Fire Table -- Fine Concrete
CustomMade by Eric Dennis
Custom fire table constructed from engineered concrete.
The story behind this piece:
Concrete countertops are great. But concrete begs to be so much more. It sits patiently in the form of dissociated raw materials, waiting for creativity and labor to join in the 3-part equation. What lies to
… the right of the equals sign is determined by the imagination.
With this piece, I was inspired by the rough, randomly torn pages of one of my favorite books. From there, I developed a unique molding technique to form the randomly tattered, 18-layer, monolithic concrete table base.
The top was designed to be raw and unapologetic, much like the base, with functional, self-draining coasters reminiscent of certain patterns one might find in some wheat field somewhere.
This particular table features a 24" fire-on-ice feature fueled by either natural gas or propane. As an alternative, this burner can be replaced with a removable, non-vented bio-ethanol burner (safe for indoor use). When the burner is removed, the cavity can be filled with ice and your favorite beverages, and the coasters will drain neatly to the center. With one conversation-piece of a table, you can keep your warm drinks warm or your cold drinks cold.
Heat up (or cool down) your evenings with one of our custom fire (or ice) tables, and give your neighbors another reason to come over and enjoy your company.

I can't say enough about how amazing it has been to work with Eric - he is a master craftsman with a keen eye for design, incredible attention to detail, and infinite patience (for the million tweaks I made to the design before finalizing). The final product is stunning - exceeding my (very high) expectations. Above all, Eric is a great guy and the process was a lot of fun. In the end, I have complete confidence in Eric - I will definitely work with him again as soon as I come up with another concrete project and recommend him strongly to anyone considering undertaking a concrete project.
