This hall console table exhibits the tree slab top with its natural livewood edge, relating to the veneer from the same tree in its bookmatched pattern, on the shelf below. As for the ends of the livewood top, I carved and colored them to appear continuous.......the 1" bamboo "V" leg structure … supports the Mappa Burl top and shelf with our signature mortise and tenon joinery. And, yes, the legs do come through the top; the 1" engineered bamboo has beautiful edges, making it ideal for the integral BambooGems construction, which gracefully allows for the overhang off the back of the top, so the table can sit right up against the wall, above the 5 1/2" deep custom Mahogany baseboard heater cover that runs along the wall behind the piece. This is another example of how you can interpret the BambooGems concept and build furniture to suit your space.
