This desk made of curly maple and walnut is a current project and is the last furniture piece for a guest bedroom/office for this client. The other pieces in the room are Walnut and Maple and metal in a nice blend of Art Deco/Art Nouveau styles. The space was limited and the wall also needed a … file cabinet and communication center in a similar style. These all needed to balance with a large painting which hangs on the wall. Lots of discussion and collaboration occurred and I came up with a design the client was happy with. The pieces have Walnut legs and trim and curly Maple surfaces. I'm working with the metal worker who built the headboard who will fashion the drawer pulls and leg tips to tie it all together.
