The client wanted kitchen cabinets to extend to the ceiling for extra storage and visual drama. A flame burch backsplash was made with a cutout for the knife block. The front edge of the sink cabinet is made from bubinga wood and the cornice molding is stained red. The Formica around the sink is cobalt blue. There is a pegboard of locust wood above the sink for hanging towels. A white-stained display shelf (top right) is supported by carved cherry brackets stained red.
