This is a custom kitchen made of worm scarred and mineral stained maple, a type of wood usually used in upholstered furniture frames because it doesn't have the uniform color most people expect in maple. I think the color irregularities add a dimension not seen in many other kinds of wood. The cabinets feature inset doors and drawers as well as custom patinated brass hardware. We utilized every bit of available space in this compact kitchen.
