Blanket Wrap Cremation Urn

Human Cremation urn made from earthenware clay, glazed, and fired in my kiln. This Pacific NW Native American design was inspired by the traditional canoe and blanket wrap ceremonies. It has an abstract raven on the back of the "blanket" (front of the urn) and an urn lid made to look like a traditional cedar bark strip hat. I love traditions.

I gave the maker Odyssey Arts all As. She was really fun to work with. She took the time to understand the ins and outs of what I wanted which was unusual and not so easy for many I would think. And I could really tell that she enjoyed the process. Her passion for her work and care for the customer is reflected in a beautiful one of the kind piece of art. I would really recomend her particularly if the project is something that you wouldn't entrust to just anyone and where a lot of communication is necessary. In addition I found her charming and personable which made working with her really easy.

I ordered this item for a friend that recently lost her daughter suddenly, They are 1/2 Japanese and her daughter loved Hello Kitty, It would have made Angel very happy.

ceramic plate

Rose seemed enthusiastic about this relatively simple project of a small square plate or tray. She presented me with an excellent creation story, though it took her a while to get around to it. The plate was delivered pretty much on time and it is a handsome product. The plate sits on top of a wooden cube which has a special symbolic meaning for me and is meant to hold a candle.

Rose was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was extremely good at communicating with me during the entire process. Any time I had a question, she answered me very quickly, usually within a couple of days, most often the same or next day! As I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do, and made some changes in the process, she was extremely flexible with my requests, and made me feel comfortable asking her to do them. Rose treated my project with care and compassion, and my wife loved it. It turned out better than I imagined. As an artist of sorts (I am a musician) I understand the importance of leaving room for an artist to put their own selves and creativity into a project they're working on, and she was able to add touches and creativity to fill out my vision better thatn I pictured. She is extremely competent. I highly recommend working with Rose Belschner. She will definitely meet your satisfaction, as she did mine.
