DIY Ring sizing guide

When buying a ring you’re encouraged to head to the jeweler, try on a some samples and size them up on a mandrel. To avoid the hassle, there’s an easy at-home solution that simplifies the process and gives you the same results. Figuring out your ring size, or the size of the person you’re buying for, is the first step of customizing a ring so check out these 5 simple steps for determining your ring size.

Step 1: Use a tailor’s tape measure. If you don’t have one simply cut a strip of paper, leaving enough room to wrap around your finger.

Step 2: Wrap the tailor’s tape or paper around the base of the finger where you’d like to wear your new ring.

Step 3: Mark the tape or paper where it completes the circle. For accuracy sake, we recommend starting the tailor’s tape at the 10-inch mark, leaving plenty of room for measuring.

Step 4: Count out the millimeters from beginning to end to determine the circumference of your ring.

Step 5: Refer to this ring circumference sizing chart to pick the best size for your custom ring. If you fall between two sizes, half sizes are available so be sure to let your Maker know.
