This storage box and seat is proportioned to fit at the foot of a queen sized bed. It's 60"long x 31" high x 17 3/8" deep; seat height - 18". The painted box, its frame and panel bottom and its sliding, dovetailed tray are all poplar. The lid and bench are white oak. The seat is 3mm braided hemp cord, woven in a standard Danish cord pattern. The box is finished with 3 coats of Tavern Green milk paint. Then everything got 3 coats of Minwax wipe-on poly. This is the first piece that I've used Rockler's, Lid-Stay, torsion hinges. They work like the hinge on a laptop, holding the lid at any angle. Very safe and aesthetically pleasing.
