This Bungalow style headboard is handcrafted from solid cherry with a dark wine stain. It features solid wood posts, a full 3 3/4" thick on the bottom, tapering gently to 3 1/2" thick under the cap. The mortise and tenon joints are pegged. The low footboard has an arch to mirror the headboard's … top rail. The bed rail stock is a full 1 1/4" thick and utilizes bed bolts to attach the head and footboards to the rails. (a bed bolt wrench is provided) There are decorative covers over the bed bolts. This is the best way to keep the bed solid, yet make it easy to take apart and move should the need arise. Also available with a tall footboard.
