Al Judge took early retirement from Black & Decker in 2002 in order to move west and find a safer environment for his wife who suffers from chemical sensitivity. After 37 years of designing power tools, Al began to use them in earnest to build environmentally safe items for their home. Projects included: closet shelving and organizing, numerous bookcases, a TV room, a china closet, and decorative shelving. As they have moved from place to place in the southwest, Al has continued to create furnishings for their homes. In 2009, Al designed and built a storage cabinet for some neighbors to fit into a very tight place in their RV. The project was very successful and Al then decided to market his services to others. Woodworking covers a very diverse range of skills and products. Al’s focus is primarily on utility rather than art. He is not an expert in exotic woods or finishes, but has some experience and expertise in building environmentally safe and highly functional products. Formaldehyde-free sheet goods are much more readily available than they were just a few years ago and water-based stains and finishes are now commonplace items. Al also has a natural penchant for creating value and will do everything possible to deliver your custom item at a fair and reasonable price.
