Her exposure to and fascination with fine fabrics from around the globe started at an early age and led her from working with her grandfather, an old-fashioned European designer and tailor to collecting exotic fabrics from Japan, to travelling and exploring Asia for the making and cultural richness of different fabrics and designs.

Dunja has the basic need for self expression that we are familiar with when we speak of the artist who works with paints, clay, rock or whatever it may be. Her medium just happens to be fabrics and her canvas the magnificent curves and contours of the female form. This development came about quite by accident as a consequence of the journey undertaken by her restless soul.

Every Amiiee design is conceived and hand-draped on the mannequin in her New York City studio. The garments are sculpted to flatter the body with a sense of lightness, whimsy and ease. Her aesthetic is unapologetically feminine and romantic - born of Dunja’s own personality.

Silks, chiffon and brocades, leather, shearling and wools are used to grace the figure with flowing, pretty, sexy beauty and glamour!
