I create one-of-a-kind
fountains and sculpture from stone, glass and metal. I've worked with homeowners, designers and architects to make hundreds of pieces for residences, corporations, and public spaces across the U.S. I try to get a “wow” effect by combining surprise with fun so that the viewer asks, “how did they do that?” While the visual effects are usually strong, the sounds my fountains make are quiet and meditative and the shapes and colors of my sculpture have a relaxing effect. The goal is create a soothing, interesting environment.
PROCESS. To develop a design I look at the location (often through pictures) and try to get a feel for the client’s taste in art and architecture through conversations and sharing images. I create a 3D computer model of the space and the designs which I can share with the client so that they can see what the piece will look like from any angle or any view – for example, from the patio, from the living window, from a conference room, … Working via computer model also makes it easy to change colors, shapes and size on the fly which speeds the design process.
