    AWKed Design and Jewelry Studio was founded by designer and artist Dmitriy Polyakov in the summer of 2010. It began as a channel for capturing the spontaneous creative energy of children’s art. In his Art With Kids Studio, Dmitriy collaborated with children to create art works that expressed their free imagination and unique vision. Dmitriy then developed new techniques to preserve the children’s original art, by translating their drawings into designs for handcrafted cloisonné enamel jewelry. The AWKed Design collection builds on this legacy, offering existing designs based on children’s drawings or the opportunity to create a truly unique piece. AWKed is a team of talanted Artists and Artisans, joined by one common goal – using traditional jewelry making techniques to create jewelry infused with a sense of wonder and freshness that is missing in so much of today’s fashion jewelry.We draw inspiration from a wide range of art disciplines such as graphic arts, monumental arts, sculpture, mosaic, stained glass and painting. Modern artists Chagall, Kandinsky, Klee and Miró also influence his artistic vision. The artistic qualities of Cloisonne enamel provide us with the freedom of expression that is rarely accessible to traditional jewelers, making each creation a unique work of art. We draw inspiration from a wide range of art disciplines such as graphic arts, monumental arts, sculpture, mosaic, stained glass and painting. We offer our clients a unique and precious opportunity – taking an active part in the creative process that eventually gives birth to a jewelry item carrying within it a piece of the client’s soul and dreams.
