Since 1974 Chuck Franklin Glass Studio has produced custom Art Glass and Stained Glass work in Portland, Oregon. Work ranges from traditional to contemporary, an…d from colorful to clear with various textures. Beginning with a Portland restaurant, Jake's, in 1975, the studios work can be found in McCormick and Schmick's Restaurants nationally. This work includes skylights, domes, stained and beveled glass windows, light fixtures, and sconces. Work can also be found in a wide variety of residences, churches, businesses, and casinos.
2002- Chuck was featured on a segment of OREGON ART BEAT on OPB.
2008- Chuck was given the LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD from the Art Glass Association of America.
DESIGNS-
The studio can work from client designs, blueprints, or general ideas. The studio has an extensive library of designs to choose from, or can do any custom design necessary, with Chuck doing the designing. Often a client may not know exactly what they want, but they will know what they don't want, and that's often a good starting point. In some work the design is intended to be a focal point, and in other the design blends in more with the architecture and other decor.
COST-
The cost of a project is based on design requirements, size, complexity, and glass used. The larger and more complex, the greater the cost. Most projects range from $90/ sq. ft. to $200/ sq. ft. A deposit of 1/2 is initially required, with the balance due on completion. After an initial talk with the client, a good estimate can usually be given.
DELIVERY/ INSTALLATION/ SHIPPING-
Local clients can pick up finished work at the studio, or it can be delivered or delivered and installed. We do our own crating, and work can be crated and shipped anywhere. Delivery, installation, crating, or shipping costs are additional. An estimate can be given.
Service areaWe crate our own work, and can ship anywhere.
ShippingOur work is shipped either ground freight, or air freight. Although slightly less expensive, air freight offers quicker service and less jostling.
InstallationWe are available for both local installations and national installations. For years we did national installations for McCormick and Schmick's Restaurants.

This video of the studio was done a couple years ago by Blake McCoy with Premonition Films, and includes clips from a segment of Oregon Art Beat that I was on in 2002. The studio is slightly smaller now with fewer people working here, but all else remains the same.
Grace Teigen and Gene Wigglesworth wrote: Chuck did a very large project for us in three phases, over time, so we got to know him well. His work was beautiful and exactly what we wanted. It was done in perfect detail and for a very reasonable price. We couldn't be happier or recommend him ...more highly. Grace Teigen and Gene Wigglesworth
