While adhering to the functional principles of furniture making, my primary focus is satisfying the taste and vision of my customer.

Most of my pieces reflect an initial period of give and take where the client and I work to realize their own creative vision. The examples I have included in my portfolio provide further detail of this exciting and fun collaboration. The ideas I get through this process further fuel my own creativity and the result is often much more than either of us imagined in the beginning.

I work with solid woods and veneers, utilizing a variety of power and hand tools to carve and shape forms - from bold to subtle. Using traditional techniques, I combine various woods that contrast with and compliment each other. Pieces are often embellished with burnt, painted or stained designs on the surface of the finished work. A rich oil finish brings out the exquisite and unique beauty of the wood in each piece of furniture.
