I push ideas of value, wearability, form and presence. While the roots of this work were a humble reaction to skyrocketing metals prices, the implications are broad. The extravagant qualities in my work seem garish, but they’re purpose is twofold; they draw an audience while simultaneously forcing the wearer to become more conscious of their own body. While the material was originally meant to be an industrial gasket, the simple act of repurposing it as not only art objects but art objects that act as fine jewelry questions traditional ideas of value. My work is visually engaging both on and off the body. And as with any objects meant to be worn, you can only gain the full experience by trying a piece on.

All my neoprene work is constructed by hand from sheets of foamed neoprene. I use no adhesive in the design and construction of the pieces you see on my profile (save applying the gold leaf), instead I rely on the expansion and contraction properties of the neoprene itself to achieve various forms and ornamentation.
