Susan's journey into fine arts brought her to a love of working with molten materials and the challenge of working with hard glass having a melting point of over 1,000 degrees. Working with this material requires intense concentration, directed creativity and skill.
Unlike tube and furnace work with soft glass, lampwork with hard glasss is created directly in the hands of the artist.
