Forrest Lesch-Middelton is
an innovative maker of fine handmade, decorative ceramics. Using techniques that he has developed over many years Forrest ornaments each piece using historical patterns from cultures that have caught his interest over time.
All of Forrest's work is fired to approximately 2300 Fahrenheit in a gas kiln. In order to attain the unique shades of gray and black in each piece he employs a rare firing method in which the oxygen is removed from the kiln upon cooling allowing the once red clay body to maintain a black cast iron appearance giving each piece a sense history and timelessness.
All of this work is water tight and can be used in all manors that befit functional ceramics.
Forrest's work is featured in many prominent galleries throughout the United States, and he Shares his ideas and knowledge of the ceramics process through teaching engagements and lectures throughout the country.
