  • Big boards from the Irene fall Sycamore

    This 200 year old sycamore was well over 50 inches at the base and had well over 30 feet of … straight bole before the first major branching. We cut three 8 to 9 ft sections. The lumber is ready to use. The flat and rift sawn boards have lovely grain with wavy interlocked figure typical of this wood. Quarter sawn boards have characteistic lace figure which distinguishes it as american lace wood. The long boards are avialable for two board book matched table tops, and the lumber from the large crotch will yield remarkable coffee tables.
