I have been
building nylon string guitars for classical. jazz, and, studio players for over 30 years in the Los Angeles area.
My guitars have clear, singing trebles matched by full, lush basses; a wide tonal palette; and even playing and response across the fingerboard.
I build with only the highest quality tonewoods, many that have been in my shop for more than 20 years. Most of my work is made with East Indian or Brazilian rosewood for the sides and back, and Western Red Cedar or European Spruce for the tops. I also have old Honduras Mahogany, European Flame Maple, Curly Koa, and other woods in stock, and am always buying new wood.
Most of my work is on a commission basis. This allows me to take into consideration my clients needs and wants...both tonally and cosmetically. I usually take a series of photos documenting the construction process and deliver these pictures with the guitar giving my clients a view of the building process as if they are there in the shop with me. Only very seldom do I have a guitar in stock to sell.
My waiting list varies from 4 -6 months to over a year. I ask for a deposit of about 1/3 the agreed upon price to hold a spot in line as well lock in a price. The process takes about 12 - 14 weeks from the time I start working on a customers guitar to delivery. Payment is due in full before delivery of the completed instrument.
