I've been building
furniture for more than 35 years, and my goal has always been the same: to make objects that elicit the same fondness and pleasure I felt for the furniture that surrounded me as a child. I especially like classic English and Chinese furniture, and those influences are evident in many of my designs.
My furniture is by commission, and is priced on a time and materials basis. This puts a typical desk, for example, in the range of $7-10,000. I generally use domestic woods like walnut, cherry or figured maple, with quarter sawn oak for hidden structural members and butternut for lighter elements like drawer bottoms or backs. Occasionally I turn to tropical woods such as rosewood or mahogany.
If something here strikes your fancy, please email or call me. With your input, I can design and build a piece that your descendants will treasure centuries from now.
