“I like making
things,” declares Jimi Gwinn, “and I am addicted to the overwhelming sense of accomplishment earned from creating something beautiful.” In fact, he has been making things and winning awards ever since he was a small child. His studio, J. S. Gwinn fine jewelry, specializes in the design and manufacture of high-end fine custom jewelry. Mr. Gwinn is also a Graduate Gemologist from the reputable Gemological Institute of America (GIA).
Trained as an old-school bench jeweler, he appreciates the life and warmth built into a piece of hand-crafted jewelry. As an award-winning innovator and published author in the field of computer-aided design and manufacturing, he realizes that there is simply no substitute for the precision, speed, and cost-effectiveness of using machines.
However, Gwinn quickly admits there are some things that simply cannot be done by a machine. Jimi typically spends more time behind the bench on each piece than at the computer screen, and uses his trained sculptor’s eye to perfect each wax model by hand before sending it off to be cast.
His experienced team utilizes the finest gemstones from the most accomplished and celebrated cutters in the jewelry industry, including; John Dyer, Ben Kho, Bernd Munsteiner, and Glen Lehrer. Using high-karat gold and platinum, each piece of jewelry produced by J. S. Gwinn is guaranteed to be a work of art.
