Kirk Ratajesak is
an acknowledged, internationally-known artist experienced in various styles of gunstock carving.
Mr. Ratajesak has been doing handcrafted artwork in wood since 1973. In 1992, Kirk extended his talents to more aggressively pursue gunstock and pistol grip carving. Most of his current work is in a style of carving called intaglio, described in the dictionary as "ornamentation with figure or design sunk below the surface."
Kirk displays his carved gunstocks and other works at national and local gun shows. He has displayed at shows such as the National Rifle Association convention, Single Action Shooters Society, Wanenmacher's Tulsa Show, The Big Reno Show, Festival of the West in Scottsdale, AZ and others. Ratajesak is a member of Washington Arms Collectors, Winchester Arms Collectors, NRA life member, and SASS. His work covers the North American continent, including all 50 states, as well as over 20 foreign countries.
Kirk Ratajesak's work is shown in many magazines including an article in the summer 2003 issue of Guns of the Old West (pg. 20-22). Additional work is featured in the November/December 2003 issue of Shoot Magazine (pg. 16-17), and True West May 2004 (pg. 91).
Whether an original design or reproduction, Kirk can add personality to your prized possessions. On his replication work, it complements the work of the original artist.
All carving is done by hand with no lasers or CNC.
