Hello and welcome
to the Metal and Stone Elite Jewelers: Custom Made webpage! As you will see while you're browsing, we are an independent jewelry company who specializes in handmade, custom jewelry.
Our opinion of custom jewelry is not mass produced parts but one of a kind pieces that are especially tailored for you (not with a computer).
With our custom jewelry, everything is handmade by Metal & Stone Jewelers. From the rendering drawings, to the model making (wax carving), casting, stone setting and polishing, we do it all with an expert eye and an artistic touch. Therefor resulting in a unique, individualized piece of wearable art.
With the advance of technology, a lot of jewelry stores and jewelers offer custom work through CAD/CAM. By having the work done by a computer, labor is cut down signifigantly, but the beauty of something being made by someones hand is lost. Offering CAD/CAM will certainly be a more affordable option, but we would prefer that our customers not compare us to those that create by computer.
Our labor charge refers to the time and effort in making a piece from scratch and by hand. Our experienced jewelers work in our store, in the US, and have been in the business for over 50 years and their time and efforts do not come inexpensively.
Our custom pieces start with handrawn sketches where they are hand carved and sculpted from wax. A mold is then made to cast from and the pieces are then cleaned, finished (be it polished, engraved, etched, etc) and set with stones (if there are any). To appreciate the whole process, we offer our customers a dvd recording from our jewelers bench that allows them to see their piece go through every step as it is being made.
Please feel free to contact us to talk about your next piece (ideas and sketches are free) or to inquire about any of the pieces featured on the webpage. Thank you and we look forward to working with you!
