Originally from Nebraska, I expressed an early interest in drawing, painting, metal and woodworking. My artistic journey began with a creative bent toward drawing cars, a credit to my father's interest/ability in the same. My high school art teacher encouraged me to explore a variety of mediums: metal cast; airbrush; pottery; watercolor; pastels; and pen/ink. My first exposure to a sandblasted art piece occurred during my senior year class trip to Denver, Colorado. That trip sparked my own experimentation with glass etching and subsequent expertise using this medium.

In 1985, I moved my family to western New York. There I worked for my wife's grandfather, a German immigrant who himself was both an entrepreneurial business success and highly-gifted artisan. He designed metal artwork pieces such as elegant chandeliers, fireplace screens, and family crests. I joined efforts with him on various one-of-a-kind projects by creating glass etching inserts. I continue to carry on this artistic heritage via my own unique craftsmanship abilities, 'etching' a niche for myself in the art world. My experience now spans over 30 years.
