That said, I love new challen … Read more I create furniture and cabinetry that is meant to be used for more than a lifetime, has a unique yet familiar aesthetic and fits discretionary spending plans. I work primarily in North American hardwoods and there are few things I haven't done in the 30 years I've been plying this trade. That said, I love new challenges posed by any custom job and I also love to generate limited run productions of new and speculative designs.
I believe in Sustainable Design; that is, using materials from fairly local sources that won't create a health hazard in your home in processes that leave a minimal carbon footprint and creating products that do not have built-in obsolescence.
I was taught by one of the giants in this field, Tage Frid, and it is a privilege and an honor, not to mention great fun and yeah, sometimes hard labor, to be doing this work.
