During a twenty-five year career in the field of architecture, our design aesthetic has evolved into a soft modernism based on traditional materials and methods of construction. This ideal that has occurred in the houses we have designed, has now emerged in our furniture. In many cases, the furniture line by RBD complements and expands the built environments we create. Influenced by the work of Wright, Schindler, Greene & Greene, and Stickley, RBD's work consists of straightforward, innovative design with firm roots in traditional and early modern architecture and furniture making. We approach programs and problems with the belief that the finest solutions are both logical and direct, leading to a good design.

Richard Bubnowski received his architectural training at Pratt Institute and The Catholic University of America. Over the years his work has been included in various publications including: Style 1900, Arts & Crafts Homes, Coastal Living, Home, Old house Interiors, Design NJ, and Luxury Home Quarterly.
