Born Sayaka Wada
in Nagano, Japan, she came to the U.S. as an exchange student in 1989. A naturally artistic person, after graduating high school with honors in Idaho, Sayaka attended the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in San Diego. She started Plastic People, a clothing company, with an FIDM classmate, and went on to use her skills at everything from graphic design to skateboard and snowboard products, to planning weddings and other events, as well as photography and videography.
By 2003, Sayaka had turned her talents to remodeling houses with her mother in San Diego. It was during one of their projects that Ian (her husband) was brought on for his skills in construction and carpentry. Not long after, they began working as a team, and soon formed Sculptured Network, Inc., a custom door company.
Ian and Sayaka relocated to Las Vegas in 2004, where they formed their remodeling company the following year.
They worked both together and separately, but always drew on each other’s strengths. Ian worked on such internationally-known Las Vegas landmarks as Caesar’s Palace, The Bellagio, The Venetian, and Wynn Suites, just to name a few. Sayaka, meanwhile, added concrete art to her aesthetic repertoire, a unique process by which she transforms bland surfaces into showpieces.
Sayaka & Ian now begin their eighth year in business together by relocating to China, where they will soak in the unique art, culture, history, and perspective of this country.
At the same time, Sayaka will use her imagination and expertise to produce in reality what their lucky clients could not have believed possible. Sayaka will take in her clients’ tastes, ideas, and lifestyles and turn their home or place of business into a work of art, from concept to completion.
