As soon as I tried it I kne … Read more My Story From my earliest memories, I have always known I wanted to be an artist. Over the years I have studied and practiced a wide variety of arts & crafts. I was painting with watercolors and looking for a way to share my artwork with a wider audience when I discovered silk painting. As soon as I tried it I knew I had found my specialty.
I love everything about the process, including the sometimes surprising ways the dye works on the fabric, the sensuous feel of the silk in my hands, and being able to wear art work that reflects my interests, the season or even my mood.
Each piece of my wearable art is hand painted so they are always one-of-a-kind originals.
I use a wide variety of Silk Painting techniques including watercolor style painting, resists, shibori and tie dye. I paint every thing that inspires me. In the Spring and Summer flowers from my garden, in the Fall the beautiful leaves and prairie grasses, in Winter snowflakes and holiday themes, and I experiment with geometrics, colors, and patterns all year round.
