Both were very talented carpenters a … Read more The Heritage Craftsmen Company was started in 2008 by Cody Seabolt. Though the company is relatively new, it draws on a rich history of craftsmanship that extends back to 1946 with the establishment of Koonce & Davis Construction in Dallas, TX, by Cody's grandfather and great uncle. Both were very talented carpenters and businessmen and the company served many of Dallas' finest families in both residential and commercial projects until 1996.
At that time Cody's uncle acquired the company and its clients, serving them until his retirement in 2007. Cody worked for the company during breaks while studying at Texas A&M University and was privileged to meet many of the customers that his grandfather and uncle served.
After college, Cody taught woodshop and metalshop at a local high school and in 2004 he started Seabolt Woodworks, a custom woodworking company focusing on furniture and cabinetwork. With his uncle's retirement in 2007, Cody decided to leave teaching and go into the 'family business' full time. Having made that decision, the choice was made to change the company name to The Heritage Craftsmen Co. in order to reflect the wider variety of services now being offered.
The Heritage Craftsmen Company may be a different business than that one started by Cody's grandfather so long ago, but we do offer the same great customer service and craftsmanship that has been a family standard for over 60 years.
