This mahogany door is part of a set of hallway furniture that includes a large mirror and a wall coat rack. All designs evoke a plant/floral theme. The inside of the door represents a cross-section of a flower with stamens; the handle follows the form. The low relief carved surface of the outside shows the explosion of spores sliding down the edge of the door to the bottom. Walnut stain over mahogany distinguishes different areas.
