We created this for a client that found us here on CustomMade.com.

This started out to be a chest where kitty litter could be placed so that the cat would not track so much litter through the house, and also to contain the dust from the kitty litter. There were no commercially made units that … were large enough for this cat, plus the litter pan is a large one that is 12" tall.

So, I designed the box to include an inside stairway to allow the cat to get over the top of the litter pan easily. In doing that design, I decided to provide another opening to allow the cat to have a place under the stairs. When the clients saw that plan, they dubbed it the Cat Cave.
