Cedar Garden Benches

These benches are made with storm damaged eastern aromatic red cedar trees from a local historic plantation. In exchange for the lumber I made a few benches the plantation could auction for fund raising. I have a good supply of large cedar slabs that are ready to become benches or even tables.

These benches are built completely with wedged mortise and tenon through joinery and sliding dovetails, no screws or dowels to loosen over time. The end grain on the legs are sealed with epoxy to prevent water uptake. Maintain the outdoor oil finish or let it age to a natural silver patina, either way these benches will last many years to come.
