The desk has a birdseye maple top with cherry border and inlaid padauk. The base of the desk is cherry with padauk inlays inset in a grid pattern throughout the desk. There is a drawer bank on each side of the chair niche with a file drawer at the bottom of each bank and a pencil drawer in the middle. The center section of the desk front has a radius.
