This is a classic demilune design, also called a hall table, sofa table, console, or side table. It is solid Vermont black cherry finished with Danish oil. The top is hand-planed for a rich traditional feel. The elliptical apron is a 7-piece layup of solid cherry, which has been segmented and … assembled to the legs by means of rugged mortise and tenon joinery. There is a light applied bead at the bottom of the apron. The legs taper through several graceful turned features along their length. This piece is initialed and dated on the underside, "MM '10".
