These sculptures, are part of a series of three that display my fondness of the barn frame construction, (post & beam) with a functional wood chest of drawers.
I used naturally beautiful contrasting woods and colors, with functional and decorative wood joinery for the frame and chest.
The posts … and beams are maple. I used mahogany and oak, for the chests and rosewood for the accents. The handles are hand shaped.
The frame, with mortise & tenon joinery, is cantilevered, and supports the wood chest of drawers, that are functional.
They are a show piece of what I love about wood, furniture, architecture and design.
