This is a replica of a Newport 1780's chest of drawers. It was built in period style with single board sides and top, running dovetails to join the case sides and bottom. the curved drawer fronts are not bent but cut out of thick boards. All of the final planing and scraping on the piece was done by hand. The finish is hand rubbed shellac.
