Church Pulpit And Alter Rail
CustomMade by Tom Stark
Pulpit for Fellowship Baptist Church in Vienna, WV, as part of a new church sanctuary build in about 2009. See also, the matching alter rail project as well. Pulpit and rail include both painted and stailed oak elements with the arches made by cold-bent lamination. Each three-arch section (total … of six sections) had to be connected to the adjacent section with concealed connectors so that it appeared as one section of the arc on either side of the steps leading to the platform. Pulpit features a hinged lid for storage and hinge cover to hide shine of piano hinge to prevent interference with video taping used during services. Pulpit is anchored to the floor so as to be easily removable. Added storage for microphones, etc. provided in base. Each arch in rail contains an embroidered panel featuring 18 different names given to God or Christ in the Bible. Embroidery provided by our sister company Knot Just Stitches (unfortunately, that business closed in 2009 because of illness).

Wooden Platform Queen Bed
by Beatrice Peltre Feb 26th 2013
The communication with Tom was very good. Outside events prevented him from delivering our bed as originally planned but it never altered the end result. We are very happy with how Tom managed the project, and we love our new bed.

Bathroom mirror
by Eli L. Nov 18th 2012
Unfortunately, Tom at Starkwood Designs ended up not being able to create the bathroom mirror to the specs we had agreed upon, so in that sense this transaction was disappointing. That said, I have absolutely no doubt that Tom bent over backwards to try to meet my specifications -- from trying and retrying to create the desired result himself several times, to then taking the project to experts and specialists often as far as an hour away, the effort and his commitment to delivering the desired output couldn't have been more evident. It was clear that Tom truly cared about delivering what he said he would and when he ultimately wasn't able to, he was deeply disappointed and apologetic. Because of all of this, while the end result of this project wasn't exactly as I'd hoped, the mirror Tom produced was still very nice and, more importantly, I knew that he had tried everything he possibly could and went above and spent far more time on this project that its scope dictated, which I ...
