These clients were lucky enough to have access to a supply of gorgeous, remarkably wide, hand-planed pine boards from the attic floor of an 18thC. Moravian building in Nazareth, PA They knew the size and shape they wanted, and I turned the maple legs and constructed a simple and rigid hexagonal frame which looks at ease with the collection of antique chairs around it.
