This blanket/hope chest is designed and built in the Arts and Crafts tradition embodied by Gustav Stickley in the early 1900's. It is made of locally harvested cherry with the bottom lined with aromatic cedar. Tenons are pinned with walnut to add a contrasting accent to the piece. It is … hand-finished with Tried and True Danish Oil with a topcoat of varnish and wax. These chests are appropriate for all rooms in the house. They can have self-locking lid stay mechanisms installed when they are used as childrens toy chests.
