This multi-functional kitchen island was shaped to mirror the curved cabinetry to allow for maximum access. It features a cutting surface at standard countertop height, a large work surface lowered to facilitate baking, and a raised serving surface. The end-grain butcher block cutting surface is made from hexagonal billets, and sits atop an octagonal base containing a pull-out garbage can holder and two side storage compartments. Main maple counter has a raised glass bar-height serving shelf supported by mahogany pillars, as well as cutlery drawers and a large pot storage shelf below. Below the glass serving shelf is a fan-shaped drawer unit with convex drawer fronts. All drawers are hand dovetailed with stainless steel pulls.
