This necklace was originally made in the 'gemstone by the yard' style - with gemstones attached directly to the chain - allowing the stones to move fluidly. (See second photo)

After wearing the necklace for a few days, our client asked us if we could think of a way of holding the stones in … place, but still allow for some motion.

Dino, our goldsmith, likes a good challenge and created a subtle articulating mechanism that allowed the stones to move but held them solidly from flipping when worn.

Not only did this solve our clients problem, we think it also made a more attractive piece.
