A recently completed engagement ring - a combination of old and new.

Our customer had a diamond past down from a family member and was hoping to combine the stone in a beautiful sapphire engagement ring.

After discussing design options that would meet all of his needs, we created a digital … model of the ring - a beautiful oval shaped sapphire on top and the family diamond off-set. Although we still carve most of our pieces from wax, some designs require a more technological touch.

After cast the ring in 18k super white gold, now comes time for clean-up. Dino is a stickler for detail - even though most of our customers may not notice some less then polished corners or crevices - as Dino says - he will still know it's there. Dino polishes the cut-out forms of the center band with cotton cord covered in polishing compound.

After that - it comes time to turn to the polishing wheel for the outside.

Next, Dino begins to assemble all the pieces. Each component of this ring was cast separately - bezels to hold the stones and bands - to ensure a perfect whole.

After all the pieces are soldered together and polished, the ring is ready to have the large stones bezel set and the accent diamonds bead-set throughout the band.
