These are a collection of unfinished mantle we have made. The purchaser was a fireplace installer who installed and finished all of these mantles. These are just a few that we took pictures of. All of these mantles are from solid red oak and some red oak plywood. They show different legs with panels, mouldings, and flat boards. The mantle tops are either 3/4" plywood with a moulding to wrap around the edge or a solid top. Some of the Mantles say on a wooden harth while others sat on masonry. These mantles could be laid out many ways. There can be rounded columns for legs, raised panels for legs, recessed panels for legs, many different style of breast boards, and multiple moulding profiles could be used. Our typical finish is a clear satin lacquer for durability, water resistance, and chemical resistance while keeping smoothness and beauty. The mantles could also be made from another species of wood, which could be stainded, or even a color of paint.
