The Surround and Mantle were constructed from Poplar (as the unit was going to be painted). Tiles are 1" x 2" mini Subway type Ceramic Tiles. The unit can be constructed from any wood and have a Finish applied if desired.

Hinged wooden box

I was very pleased with my hinged wooden box. I wanted a simple design and Steve delivered a beautiful box that met all of my criteria. His communication was clear, he kept me informed of progress along the way and delivered just what I wanted in the time frame outlined at the start. I would definitely recommend working with this maker.
