  • Hi Peggy,
I've measured and cut the leather out and there was a lot, LOL. I started with the back cover and drew the design first on wet leather. Then I take a knife and carve it. I then take a beveling tool and hammer and go around the cut. This raises the design up from the leather. I used the Algerian font on your names so after "tooling" I then carve outlines around the letter. Tomorrow I'll start on the front cover. What about color of thread? Black, brown or natural. The natural is a like a beige color. Or I could dye that red, too. Let me know and have a good night! Kerry carving

  • Peggy,
As on the back, I drew the design on wet leather, carved it and then went around the cut to raise the design up from the leather. I've just dyed the leather and tomorrow will start sewing it all together. I like the black thread, too, with these colors! So more tomorrow and have a good night! Kerry fully tooled

  • Peggy,
I ran out of dye for the interior so I had to get more yesterday so some of the interior leather had to dry overnight. So that's why you didn't hear from me.
This morning I've started on the middle panel, pages 2 and 3. I've sewn pockets, for the clipboards, on and sewn the lining onto the leather. I've attached a picture of the cover dyed. It's actually darker than the picture. It must be the flash, on the camera, that makes it look brighter. So know I'm going to start on the cc slots for pages 1 and 4. More later... Kerry cover dyed

  • Peggy,
I finished the interior today and all I have left is to sew the interior to the cover. I'm not sure what you mean by hardback book or paperback. I use a supersoft pigskin for the interior so it's not stiff and hard. It's very soft. The cover is fairly soft, too, and will become more soft as used more. So I'll send final pictures tomorrow when I'm done. Have a good night! Kerry pen holder sewn

  • A leather seat panel for a rocking chair & two trim pieces

    by Charles May 20th 2013

I had a great experience with Kerry from the outset. Suggestions were made regarding the leather seat and trim for my rocker, leather thickness samples provided, the work was done in a timely manner, and the results what I wanted. Almost forgot to mention that I found the price very reasonable too. Thanks for helping me finish my project! Charles
